‘Stranger Things’ Star Millie Bobby Brown’s ‘Papa’ to Officiate Wedding: Millie Bobby Brown, star of the hit Netflix series ‘Stranger Things’, will have her on-screen ‘Papa’ officiate her wedding to fiancé Jake Bongiovi. Matthew Modine, who plays the role of Dr. Martin Brenner in the show, revealed that he will preside over the ceremony and has already written their wedding vows.
“I have one of those licenses to get people married, and Millie thought it’d be great, and then Jake said it would be a great idea,” Modine told Access Hollywood. “I wrote the wedding vows, and they loved what I wrote for them to join hands and to become husband and wife. It’s such a beautiful thing to be able to join two people in holy matrimony.”
Brown and Bongiovi, son of music icon Jon Bon Jovi, announced their engagement in 2023. The ‘Enola Holmes’ actress shared the news on Instagram with a photo of the couple and a caption quoting Taylor Swift’s “Lover”: “I’ve loved you three summers now, honey, I want ’em all.”
Brown previously appeared on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’, where she revealed a charmingly chaotic underwater proposal story. Bongiovi initially slipped the ring on her finger underwater, but it quickly fell off and plummeted to the ocean floor. Despite the frantic search, Bongiovi eventually retrieved the ring and later proposed on the surface with a ring belonging to Brown’s mother.
The 20-year-old actress gained widespread recognition for her role as Eleven in ‘Stranger Things’. Bongiovi, 21, recently landed a significant role in the coming-of-age movie ‘Rockbottom’. Modine is a seasoned actor known for his work in ‘Full Metal Jacket’ and ‘The Dark Knight Rises’.
