Veteran character actor M. Emmet Walsh, known for his memorable roles in films like “Blade Runner” and “Blood Simple,” has passed away at the age of 88. Walsh died of cardiac arrest on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, his manager, Sandy Joseph, confirmed.
Walsh had a long and prolific career, often portraying gruff characters with a sly wit. He was perhaps best known for his roles as the ruthless private detective Loren Visser in the Coen brothers’ “Blood Simple” and as Captain Bryant, Harrison Ford’s superior, in the sci-fi classic “Blade Runner.”
